So, last day at my internship in Hannover, Germany in 2011. My coworkers made clear to me that I must be to work at 10 am today and that I cannot eat anything before hand. They are making me some kind of big brunch going away party. It is really surprising me how much they are making me feel like I will be missed. I never thought I had that much of an affect on people, but I know I will miss them too. I hope to take a bunch of pictures today, as to remember Hannover and my friends.

distraction

So, I was working on typing in something I wrote, but got distracted by movies. Much like I have been working on my future, but keep getting distracted by my present.
So I will get to the writing eventually. For now I am just going to show a picture I took of a pretty place on a pretty random trip. Enjoy.

You never see this bridge in most of the images about the castle, but I personally think the bridge and land around the castle are actually better than the castle. Don’t get me wrong, the castle is amazing, but without the gorgeous mountains and waterfall, and lake and fields and hills and forest, without everything there, masterfully put together, the castle would simply be.

Steintorfest

Today was a very nice relaxing day.

I walked around Hannover City Center with a few friends.

I think we ate somewhere, but I cannot remember.
But I do remember

we visited a beach bar in Hannover and had a couples drinks.

After some more walking around the city and a little shopping for one of my boys, we all went our ways, Sad Face, I know.
Today was such a relaxed day I actually took a nap. If you know me well, then you know my opinion and general practice in relation to naps.
Then Steintorfest! Man, I wish I had brought a camera! Very cool party! Streets were absolutely filled with people! At one point I even got turned away from going down one of the streets because the Hells Angels bouncers said it was too full. They were really nice guys too!
To clarify, Steintorfest took place on 2 of the 3 or 4 streets that Hannover has as redlight district streets. There were djs on both streets, the clubs were opened up, it was a good time, but there will be no pictures from me.
I will however post some pictures tomorrow after I get back from a trip to Hamburg, fun! Some might be from my last trip there and some from this trip, we shall see.

Alright, so I never actually promised, but I say I would post a couple pictures. So, here are just a couple shots from the Jazz Festival, or what that awesome party was in front of the Hannover Rathaus.

So those are just a couple of my shots from that day. Had my camera for like an hour at the place and I only shot 66 photos, not bad.
I will look through what I have from the past and post an image of the Rathaus so everyone can understand how awesome this setup really was. Oh, and for those who might not already know the way the Germans do things, there were also beer stands and bratwurst and such stands pretty much surrounding the Rathaus. Which, I just thought of, for nonGerman speakers, it town hall. Hannover is turning out to be more like Milwaukee than I expected!

Just a quick word before I head home, hopefully in time to stop at the Rewe on the way.
I did not find a Men’s Health magazine while I was in England, not that I can remember, and I didn’t buy one, so I don’t think I found one.
But! I just finished my video report on TokTokTok, it will be shown on Thursday the 9th of June on h1, no clue what channel number that is, sorry. I don’t have a tv. But I will be posting it Thursday evening on Blickpunkt TV’s youtube account. They are a very cool jazz duo kind of band. They actually have 10 albums out and have not only their own stuff, but remakes of songs spanning from AC/DC to The Beatles.
If you hate jazz, you might not like it, but I think it is worth the risk.
Also, if anyone knows the name of the band that played at the Hannover Jazz festival, or whatever that was yesterday, please let me know! I think they were mostly American and they were a good time! I’ve got some photos on my camera at home, I’ll load a couple once I get there.

Alright, first off, sorry for not posting for so long. I could not get the wireless at my hotel in Reading to work and my seminar in Berlin was super busy, as well as super fun.
Tomorrow I am going to load my photos on to my laptop and I will post a couple cool ones, just for fun.

Can I also just say that sometimes this life we live can be very painful and very challenging. I think these next 6 weeks will be like none ever in my life.

Men’s Health

Interesting little thing. I have 2 copies of the May 2011 issue of Men’s Health. I know, not so interesting, keep reading you impatient nut.
This interesting thing to me, is that they cover different things, they have different covers, different on a much larger scale than I expected. If you did not guess yet, one of the copies is English, I bought in Milwaukee,WI airport in the USA and the other is German, I bought in the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof(Main Station), which incase you did not already know, just so happens to be in Germany.
Shortly I will be in England and am wondering what I wil find there. If it is in fact different enough to interest me I just may buy a third copy. And if it is the June issue on stands when I get there… well then I guess I should just to be fair.
Also, come back later for some tips and advice. I will be putting photos of places I see, naming restaurants and cities I like. And bands! I will be giving you some singers’ and bands’ names that I have seen or heard recently and find entertaining enough to mention.

this is a short post.
Just want to say, today is one of those days. All German seems harder to understand today. I can barely get myself to think in German and the tasks I have at hand seems overwhelmingly daunting. Soon I will leave work, shower, shave up a bit and then the world will be for me a better, brighter place.
